"I am a Cuban ornithologist, conservation scientist, and wildlife photographer with over 25 years of field experience studying and protecting Caribbean birds. My career began at the Lomas de Banao Ecological Reserve in central Cuba, leading conservation projects focused on endemic fauna, particularly the breeding ecology and management of the Cuban Parrot (Amazona leucocephala) and the Cuban Parakeet (Psittacara euops).
Over the years, I have taught biology students at the University of Havana, authored chapters in six scientific books, published multiple research papers, and currently serve as President of the Cuban Zoology Society."

Fieldwork is the core of everything I do. As a specialized nature and birdwatching guide in Cuba, I connect scientific research with immersive field experiences. I lead serious birders, researchers, and photographers through Cuba’s key ecosystems—from the Zapata Swamp to montane forests—to locate possible Cuban endemics (among Cuba’s 26 endemic species) and regional specialties, adhering to strict conservation ethics and non-invasive birding protocols.
