Science, conservation and birds of the Caribbean
I am a Cuban ornithologist and conservation scientist with more than 25 years of field experience studying and protecting Caribbean birds. My work focuses on cavity-nesting species, long-term population monitoring, nest-site management, and community-based conservation.
Fieldwork is at the heart of everything I do. It connects science and conservation with wildlife photography and the expert-led nature experiences I design, offering a deeper understanding of Cuba’s birds, habitats, and conservation challenges.
